Grand Tuscan Villa and Wine Tour
25 km/15 miles, level 2 ride, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

This complete bike ride shows our guests the best Tuscany has to offer: Panoramic views of rolling Tuscan hills, vast olive groves, and an unforgettable lunch at a 17 c. villa.
This exquisite lunch includes three local wines and is warmly prepared by a Tuscan woman solely for our group.
Our guests also enjoy a private tour of the Villa's wine & olive oil production and can relax and swim in the pool before lunch.
This tour is ideal for those who would like to see the beauty of the Chianti area while enjoying a fun bike ride with superb food and wine.
Our group sizes are at most 10 people, so we are able to ride at a relaxed pace with many stops to enjoy the beauty of the Tuscan countryside.
If you want to experience all this, but you don't feel as though you can physically manage the ride, we are more than happy to let you ride in the van all day and make all of the stops with the group.

Detailed Description of Tour

• We leave at 9:30 AM from the south end of the Ponte alle Grazie bridge. This is the same side of the bridge as Palazzo Pitti/Boboli Gardens. This is one bridge up river/east from the Ponte Vecchio. Please be here around 9:20 AM.
  

  As there are other bike tour companies in the area meeting at similar times, please ask for Per's Bike Rides.
  

• Short shuttle trip to our starting point where you will be fitted with your bike, helmet, and given a water bottle.
  
  

• Your guide will then explain the handling of the bike and give an overview of bike safety and the plan for the day.

• We then leave for the Grand Tuscan Villa, making frequent stops as needed for refreshments and photos. Everyone is encouraged to go at his or her own pace.

• Once we arrive at the villa, weather permitting; we spend some time by the pool. If you want to go for a dip, bring your swimsuit. On a hot day there's nothing better way to cool down after a few hours on the bike! We then have lunch, followed by a guided tour of the property and the making of wine and olive oil. Then we have ample time to explore the grounds and shop in the boutique.
  

• The rest of the day is spent leisurely riding back to the starting point.

• We then take you back to our meeting point around 4:30 PM where we will be happy to direct you to the best gelateria in town!

Lazy Sunday Downhill Tour
25 km/15 miles, level 1 ride, 9:30 AM - 3 PM

This is the tour for those who want to enjoy the beauty of Tuscany while exerting a minimal amount of effort. The ride begins at a 13th c. monastery with unsurpassed views of the Tuscan landscape. After a gentle downhill ride through slowly gliding terraces of vineyards and olive groves, we come to a picturesque view of Florence from the quaint hill town of Fiesole. The day concludes in the way any lazy day should, great Italian food and vino!

Detailed Description of Tour

• We transport you in a comfortable, air-conditioned van to the top of a picturesque mountain approximately 30 minutes north of Florence. This van trip includes travel through quaint villages and the scenic Tuscan countryside. Our final stop is at an elevation of 800 m / 2700 ft. It can be a cool at this elevation, so bring a light jacket!

• Here we enjoy the view from the monastery and everyone is fitted with a bike, helmet, and given a water bottle.

• After directions from your guide, we begin our descent through the Tuscan countryside stopping for refreshments and photos.

• A little more than half-way down the hill we stop in Fiesole for a stunning panoramic view of Florence.

• At the first sound of growling stomachs we head down hill to our lunch destination.

• After a full Tuscan meal including local wine at a hillside restaurant, it is time for some more downhill riding!

• After reaching the bottom of the hill, we will bike an easy, flat section for about 30 minutes back to our meeting point. We should arrive around 3 PM and we will be happy to direct you to the best gelateria in town!
